Wrapping and twining: Finessing that cheesecake up!

The last time I baked burnt Basque cheesecake, a friend said, “A little bit of finesse and you can sell that! Looks yummy!” But I honestly didn’t give it much thought until recently.

A colleague celebrated her birthday early this month and posted a photo of her burnt cheesecake. I asked where she bought it from and she said it’s just a gift. I joked her to order from me next time she craves for a cheesecake. She said she would look forward to a taste test. I agreed to give her one soon.

There were actually only about five people outside of my family who were able to try my cheesecake earlier. It’s only this week that I got the courage to introduce it to more people. I was conscious that they might find it bland as I intentionally reduced the amount of sugar from the original recipe by 25 percent. Surprisingly, many gave positive feedback.

To make my product more presentable, I placed it in a cake box with transparent window lid. I then closed it up with a twine ribbon and a sticker label on the side. It’s the first time I packaged my baked product this way and I got convinced that it really took it up a notch!

What a joy to celebrate little successes like this! And with coffee by the hubby, perfect pair isn’t it? 😀

As I’m not yet ready for the ‘selling’ part, I would love to occasionally share this with family and friends for now. Given ample free time, I’m thinking about trying different sizes and flavors. I guess, having the regular, less sugar, and sugar-free variants would also be interesting. Way to go! 😀

Very nice!! I hope this is the beginning of hopefully a successful business!! Just keep doing it, and keep getting ‘honest’ feedback from people you trust, to help you continually improve your products!
And I agree, the way you boxed and presented this cheesecake looked AMAZING! Looks like something bought from a specialty cheesecake shop! I would definitely buy one, just for the presentation itself!
    All the best Loida!!

Thank you, Kuya Erwin! That feedback really worked. It’s different when it comes from an ‘expert’ kasi. Pagbubutihin ko pa. 😊

Really love how you package your products. Simple but pretty, and very neatly done! And I am glad that I now belong to the growing number of pips outside your family (though we are like family rin naman 😊) who had the chance to sample your burnt cheesecake. Really one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had! And happy that it will be available for order soon!

11/10 would recommend! Received this as a birthday gift, and I really enjoyed it. I’m not a fan of cheesecakes but pag cheesecake na gawa ni Ate Loida, di pwedeng di ako kakain. Haha Ito yung cheesecake na melts in your mouth at hindi rin siya ganun katamis. Simple yung packaging and very secured din.

Thank you po ulit, Ate Loida! Next time, oorder na po ako. Hihi

I ordered Ate Loids’ cheesecake for my father’s birthday and he loved it (my mom and I too)! The cheesecake is smooth and creamy! My dad is not a big fan of sweets so I asked Ate Loids if she can lower the sugar to 50 percent to which she did. I’m so glad that such customization can be requested as well.
