After two weeks, my buddy is back! I am so happy. I thought it would take longer before I could have her again in the kitchen.
A few days after my stand mixer broke, my hubby bought a replacement part from an online store. When his order finally arrived, he patiently followed the video tutorial I found in YouTube. Honestly, replacing the broken part was not as easy as shown in the video. The real challenge was removing the pin from the broken worm gear and inserting it back to the new one to be attached to the assembly. I felt sorry for our neighbors who might have been bothered by the sound of the hammer while my hubby worked during the wee hours.
At around 4 o’clock in the morning, the stand mixer finally worked! We were so happy. We just hoped that the new worm gear will be durable enough to last a while.
The investment? P200 worth of replacement part, 6 hours of focused work, and a lot of patience and persistence. Thank you, hubby!
And with much excitement, I baked our regulars: wheat bread and banana nut bread.
