While sourdough bread and cheesecake have been the highlights of my baking recently, I still explore other bread recipes on the side which I aim to ‘perfect’ in time. Among these are the regular milk loaf, whole wheat bread, Pullman loaf, pandesal, bread rolls, dinner rolls, banana bread, carrot bread, almond loaf and muffins, focaccia, and even croissants. Some bread recipes require less time while others need a lot more. So, depending on how much time I have in my hands, onto that recipe goes the spotlight.
Some of these bread recipes I already tried a couple of times or more. I aim to find the basic foolproof recipe for each, but I also like to introduce my own twist and improvement.
Recently, I’ve been into ube halaya making, thus I experimented on ube cheese pandesal this time using a mix of flours. Also, I tried the ube cheese roll and ube cream cheese loaf and they didn’t disappoint. <3
It’s also easy to follow an online chocolate chip cookies recipe. However, considering the amount of sugar that goes into cookies, they are never to be a frequent go-to snack in the house. Thus, I’m experimenting on a variety of sugar options like coconut and muscovado sugar as well as sugar-free option (just to lessen the guilt!).
My banana bread recipe seems to be doing well so far. I intend to practice more on my carrot bread soon when I get the time. Carrot pecan bread with cream cheese frosting sounds nice, isn’t it?
And yes, the kiddo’s favorite croissants. I tried twice, but need more practice to achieve that flaky look goal. Fighting! <3
