On January 2, our family headed back to Manila as physical reporting already resumed at work. It was exciting and terrifying at the same time. The thought of living in our own place again thrilled me yet the fact of being in the epicenter of the pandemic frightened me.
Being away from home for 10 months made me realize how much I missed our house. I missed every corner of it, especially the kitchen. It excited me again!
Surprisingly, in the first month of the year, I was able to prepare several new dishes. New because it’s the first time I tried preparing them. Turned out not bad for a first-timer though.
Pork igado Braised pork and tofu with shitake mushrooms Thai basil shrimp fried rice Baked salmon with potato gratin Thai chicken in coconut soup Chapjae
To top the list, however, were snacks for the kiddo. He must have missed muffins so much while curious to try tortilla wrap!
Choco cream cheese muffins How should I eat this, Mom?
It’s almost magical how the tiniest place can seem the biggest when it’s where you can be free to be yourself! As for me, the kitchen is my happy place. 😀
