I honestly prefer cooking pork and chicken dishes more than beef. It isn’t because I don’t like beef. It’s just that I don’t have enough patience waiting for hours for the meat to cook. I know it has to be that way for slow cook recipes so the meat won’t become chewy.
A chef I’m following on social media shared his beef pares (braised beef stew) recipe sometime in April. Despite being a popular dish among Filipinos, I hadn’t tried this before because I’m not a fan of sweet viands. But the way the chef introduced and prepared his beef pares recipe was so natural and simple. The resulting dish looked so appetizing that I got so interested in trying to cook one at least once. And I did!
If you have the time and can spend 2 to 3 hours on a dish, try beef pares. It’s worth the wait. Pair it with plain or fried rice with lots of garlic and you’re all set. I prefer plain rice though. 😀
I got some leftover beef pares and turned it into a veggie stew the next day. The family loved it as well.
Yum! 😋
Thank you for the usual support, Janice! ❤ I look forward to having you try my ‘improved’ dishes. 😅
